is the ever graceful restaurant.<br />
This restaurant, which is located on 1F of <a href="http://www.hotel-newgrand.co.jp/" target="_blank">the Hotel New Grand</a>, symbolizes Yokohama.<br />
<br />
It's official name is <a href="http://www.hotel-newgrand.co.jp/the-cafe/" target="_blank">Coffee House The Cafe</a>.<br />
Even though the name has Coffee House in it, it is still a restaurant. <br />
It was established in1927, and still has an air of the nostalgic mood from those days. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8bpBStNdDTg75-qJHfoaQnvdZcM1KTiDFjtRZ8Ungj8gae3UQGhcONMPUs-NYEzmbHt2i1t7svQjtbsNjLU6aMqoNIeKjkjXwUh4qFDwAlV3hHazKZyG_jB8I7G8stw-WA4hqRjcx-fo/s1600/asd+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8bpBStNdDTg75-qJHfoaQnvdZcM1KTiDFjtRZ8Ungj8gae3UQGhcONMPUs-NYEzmbHt2i1t7svQjtbsNjLU6aMqoNIeKjkjXwUh4qFDwAlV3hHazKZyG_jB8I7G8stw-WA4hqRjcx-fo/s640/asd+3.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Sometimes when it's quiet inside the building, <br />
you hear the steam whistle from Yokohama harbor which stretches out before your eyes. <br />
It's easy to fall into the illusion that this place is the real Yokohama, more so than the actual place itself. <br />
This restaurant is a place where you can soak up the deep atmosphere of what makes Yokohama special. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfMWtg2T8LWxWnDv_8BHV2CF4X-dho6glGjIPiHZhactTOoD74joZz40f9CMoA3pnvkcoQj-GJLDuhjRD7AIursW8tH9pw6IwMYax-BrNX8Yj2GWjCUkQ5j2Tsqwfk4f6VuhORWoeQ0Fk/s1600/asd+8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfMWtg2T8LWxWnDv_8BHV2CF4X-dho6glGjIPiHZhactTOoD74joZz40f9CMoA3pnvkcoQj-GJLDuhjRD7AIursW8tH9pw6IwMYax-BrNX8Yj2GWjCUkQ5j2Tsqwfk4f6VuhORWoeQ0Fk/s640/asd+8.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
There are three famous menu items in this restaurant.<br />
They are the Seafood doria, spaghetti Neapolitan, pudding a la mode.<br />
All three are original dishes. <br />
The restaurant has laid down the foundations of western cuisine in Japan. <br />
<br />
<span style="color: #ff6600;">[Seafood doria]</span><br />
This is a dish that was made for overseas customers with poor health, and is gentle on delicate throats. <br />
It was created by the restaurant's first master chef, Mr. Saly Wiel from Switzerland. <br />
It is overflowing with large scallops and shrimps...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="color: #ff6600;">[Spaghetti Neapolitan]</span><br />
A dish that was created by Mr. Shigetada Irie, the restaurant's second general chef. <br />
After seeing Americans adding salt, pepper, and tomato ketchup to spaghetti, <br />
he added his own touch and this dish was born.<br />
Nowadays you can eat spaghetti neapolitan all over Japan. <br />
You can bet it's thanks to this dish!!!<br />
Tomato sauce added to pasta al dente, with the added combination of pastrami hams and mushrooms.<br />
A most elegant and gentle flavor!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="color: #ff6600;">[Recommended menu]</span><br />
The standard salad is a model example of how a salad should be.....<br />
I always order this salada, and it never ceases to be fresh and delicious!!<br />
The cucumbers are especially outstanding!!<br />
It is served with a traditional French style dressing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The Cafe serves KIRIN's Premium beer Brown meister. <br />
It has a strong flavor, and a fragrant aroma. <br />
A beer that matches the restaurant's atmosphere perfectly. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHq9A3W5JhvvPh87LU1zCMZueSWcly_8aJy46o1aewbhJ6jP2lUI8EB2mYghiCWkE_3mdf33VdDRgw5wiielns-7L3o8l1J2b-n-kHoMiHSeTgRYSFgSGsWs2APY-dZFwwLBmvQH196TE/s1600/asd+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHq9A3W5JhvvPh87LU1zCMZueSWcly_8aJy46o1aewbhJ6jP2lUI8EB2mYghiCWkE_3mdf33VdDRgw5wiielns-7L3o8l1J2b-n-kHoMiHSeTgRYSFgSGsWs2APY-dZFwwLBmvQH196TE/s640/asd+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The 2F of the restaurant has been turned into a hall with the concept of the restaurant's European taste.<br />
It's majestic appearance represents the Classic hotel that is present in Japan today......<br />

The Japanese people have special feelings towards the cherry blossoms, <br/>
they are called SA-KU-RA in Japanese.<br/>

In the spring when they are in full bloom, many people, friends, families, <br/>
and even colleagues have parties outside under the trees. <br/>
Even at night, viewing spots are crowded with people enjoying the blossoms, <br/>
which are illuminated with lights and lanterns.<br/>

The life of cherry blossoms is very short. <br/>
After they hit their peak of beauty, the petals start falling. <br/>
It is said that the Japanese view of life and death is similiar to that of the short life of the cherry blossoms.<br/>

I eat out for lunch on most holidays, but my wife usually cooks dinner for me. <br />
<br />
So, I can enjoy her homemade dish only on these holidays. <br />
I guess it's better to let her cook for me at least once a week, <br />
otherwise her laziness would get worse. <br />
And she is getting older, <br />
so this is for the purpose of, <br />
well, preventing dementia! (.....<span style="color: #cc0000;">POW!</span>)<br />
<br />
No, seriously, I'm doing this for you...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4EgvmH05cTWlu4YCTNDR-j8OvVXbOWNYC0nKWgFaQaj85sadU6OYpvaLkdtmgxQY5naqW8ilfqAC9iUS09ZJABTn7huNTxVBaoj9prqoLjahvwNXMSCkQ5NhvOsErK1ydvDOiLrLiNoQ/s1600/ayu+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4EgvmH05cTWlu4YCTNDR-j8OvVXbOWNYC0nKWgFaQaj85sadU6OYpvaLkdtmgxQY5naqW8ilfqAC9iUS09ZJABTn7huNTxVBaoj9prqoLjahvwNXMSCkQ5NhvOsErK1ydvDOiLrLiNoQ/s640/ayu+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So yesterday, we had a Nabe soup dish. <br />
<br />
"Is this Mashroom Nabe?" I asked her. <br />
<br />
Because, the pot was stuffed with enoki mashrooms.<br />
<br />
- What? Oh, I see. <br />
- You wanna tell me just shut up and don't disturb you while you are cooking. <br />
- Okay, okay...<br />
<br />
So I cleared out of her fortress (kitchen). <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCqo5DkkzV8e8BFZcBqrpu49DJL3-VnHfG4QuVYJ-Fp4smRn-xbZ_195uujj2qSYFK1jUElLxaG6A8AQTxk6Om0B30To-qBYlSGC1UWF5UBun8okVCyIDCcdJR7vY-Eux5KLZbWz2Di8Q/s1600/ayu+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCqo5DkkzV8e8BFZcBqrpu49DJL3-VnHfG4QuVYJ-Fp4smRn-xbZ_195uujj2qSYFK1jUElLxaG6A8AQTxk6Om0B30To-qBYlSGC1UWF5UBun8okVCyIDCcdJR7vY-Eux5KLZbWz2Di8Q/s640/ayu+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I started eating rolled eggs and sashimi, drinking beer, alone. <br />
Most of the sashimi ended up in our cats' stomach, though.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1oDVdAOXYt2mL-wRJXz7pVddxwxLQ0OdPBEr3A3jz6YDdYhYTcZRO4NC-hZlmXZgN_EZRuc2RtRX5X_iC8Ozh6XB7A8gumwVPHgB4m7fVrIKfHLqFrVi6as4tpdNFGr3Lt2t8X854cM/s1600/ayu+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1oDVdAOXYt2mL-wRJXz7pVddxwxLQ0OdPBEr3A3jz6YDdYhYTcZRO4NC-hZlmXZgN_EZRuc2RtRX5X_iC8Ozh6XB7A8gumwVPHgB4m7fVrIKfHLqFrVi6as4tpdNFGr3Lt2t8X854cM/s640/ayu+3.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
By the way, are you picky about takikomi gohan? <br />
I'm pretty picky! <br />
In my case, the rice should be a little bit hard-cooked, and the taste thick. <br />
I've been giving her good advice so that she will be a great cook of takikomi gohan. <br />
I've been working really hard on this for a long time. Yes, it's true.<br />
<br />
The hard work seems to have paid off, <br />
and we are going to start our new restaurant of takikomi gohan next year.... No, I'm just kidding. Sorry.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPr6Ji79fdtaEV-OxNJUMYCR90vejRo4GombkKyJfw1SdLugfnKWnsEUBr9PlZl4RoA7sg4jP3ftj2ngilEdgPkxIZSaeYWs0iCOHPpZaGTWdEifqtOnZvizqz6bQUg2DJRfbJxb7VvGE/s1600/ayu+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPr6Ji79fdtaEV-OxNJUMYCR90vejRo4GombkKyJfw1SdLugfnKWnsEUBr9PlZl4RoA7sg4jP3ftj2ngilEdgPkxIZSaeYWs0iCOHPpZaGTWdEifqtOnZvizqz6bQUg2DJRfbJxb7VvGE/s640/ayu+4.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Anyway, I had a good relaxing time with my best friend--SUPER "DRY" beer--last night!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuYKIyILYjAAA5DgfphN_tPFJI6ea2i8ujUEfosfRACnx8e5ylX7r2DXV_B8prmLeXXvJt5TQM-jPrMDNgwbHbdrMwDgYf-_zS78CO4vDfc-DC6RbOmLc9Pky44JMovyT8pmcblJTdy2k/s1600/ayu+333.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuYKIyILYjAAA5DgfphN_tPFJI6ea2i8ujUEfosfRACnx8e5ylX7r2DXV_B8prmLeXXvJt5TQM-jPrMDNgwbHbdrMwDgYf-_zS78CO4vDfc-DC6RbOmLc9Pky44JMovyT8pmcblJTdy2k/s640/ayu+333.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
But, why do modern rice cooker have so many parts? <br />
It reminds me of one of those TRANSFORMERS robots. <br />
It takes so much time to wash all of these parts!<br />
<br />
Yes, it was me who did the dishes last night, as always.....<br />
<br />

It is a clothing store with a wonderful atmosphere, very much in keeping with the port city. <br />

<br />
The building has a historical atmosphere that is very lovely, and beside it, <br />
on the side that looks out to the area with red bricks is a little cafe that I sometimes go to. <br />
<br />
The distance to the cafe from my home is perfect for a walk, <br />
and it is a great cafe to relax in while taking in the view of the sea of Yokohama.<br />
Behind this cafe is the central area of Yokohama where buildings like <br />
the Yokohama prefectural office line the streets <br />
- it is also an area that was the scene of the westernization movement <br />
so you can feel Yokohama's uniquely deep historical atmosphere there. <br />
Also, in very close proximity is a place where you will have a sweeping view of <br />
the sea of Yokohama and the Red Brick Warehouse. <br />
It is perhaps the perfect place for a date. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Now, this cafe serves <a href="https://www.msb.co.jp/beer.php" target="_blank">DOPPO beer</a>, <br />
and drinking it is one of my great pleasures. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Have you heard of DOPPO beer?<br />
It is a craft beer from Okayama prefecture in Japan, and it is truly delicious!!! <br />
When I looked up DOPPO beer on the inter net, <br />
I was amazed by the wide variety they offered but the DOPPO beer <br />
I usually order is a type of beer called Duenkel, <br />
it has a dark brown color, and it is a beer characterized by a sweet, <br />
fragrant flavor of malt with a rich taste.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4eG0P4j7IHKNof8Mp-TPNYmHT28ll_Qquv8FliGCIyhpMoHG_IUpy1YWWRhqaWXrBcU0T_MO4hZsQ689LVO2A_Gpa3rzukEfUgXmFg8J6-AJW4uJBY4AQ12jflpaJNIZX1oiVbqxMBT4/s1600/amm+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4eG0P4j7IHKNof8Mp-TPNYmHT28ll_Qquv8FliGCIyhpMoHG_IUpy1YWWRhqaWXrBcU0T_MO4hZsQ689LVO2A_Gpa3rzukEfUgXmFg8J6-AJW4uJBY4AQ12jflpaJNIZX1oiVbqxMBT4/s640/amm+5.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I have some work to do at home, so unfortunately I will only have 2 DOPPO beers today. <br />
It will be getting warmer soon, so I shall stop by again on one of my walks soon.<br />
<br />

the kind of post like today's has absolutely no meaning,<br />
and it has no use knowing those figures.<br />
<br />
I'm not especially trying to reflect on it too much, <br />
and I don't want a thank-you note from Asahi Beer. (Or maybe I do!)<br />
If I attempt to replace it with numbers and make it clear, <br />
there's no doubt that my wife will be really annoyed......<br />
<br />
However, as one that calls myself Beer Fantasia, <br />
I had the feeling that I should grasp these kind of figures, <br />
so I tried to do some calculations : <br />
approximately how many bottles of Asahi Super Dry Beer had I drunk up until now?<br />
※These approximations are on the very conservative side, of course.<br />
<br />
・Three bottles of AsahiI Super Dry Beer / day x 365 = 1,095 bottles / year.<br />
<br />
・1,095 bottles x 25years = <span style="color: #cc0000;">27,375 bottles!!!</span> ← I'm so shocked, here!<br />
<br />
Umm... Let's stop these intangible calculations.......<br />
<br />
・27,375 bottles x 250JPY (this should be the average unit price in the last 25 years) = <span style="color: #cc0000;">6,843,750JPY!!!!!</span><br />
<br />
N... no way.......... (sweat drop)<br />
<br />
I could buy a car............<br />
<br />
As I mentioned above, those figures are a conservative estimate, <br />
and on top of that it's just the amount of bottles that I drank at home......<br />
<br />
Ahh... it's terrifying.........<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWgDIGvTc8DAa2f0vJKdcPT1VDMqR_vRj6EvQA6Vx-PcO_ug_ON8qf0A6vxjzzlYjXsrXgdlvTh7Q9s8G6kYCLUQO3xNxStqKWE74_nZ7f2xjicIemzAZOIa_q9IKFH3xiHdRzdWMYDyI/s1600/aw+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWgDIGvTc8DAa2f0vJKdcPT1VDMqR_vRj6EvQA6Vx-PcO_ug_ON8qf0A6vxjzzlYjXsrXgdlvTh7Q9s8G6kYCLUQO3xNxStqKWE74_nZ7f2xjicIemzAZOIa_q9IKFH3xiHdRzdWMYDyI/s640/aw+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Huh? By the way, how much would that be if I calculated the amount???<br />
<br />
・27,375 bottles × 350ml = 9,581,250ml!!!!! <br />
(If I want to make it into 1ℓ measurement, all I have to do is divide it by 1000!)<br />
<br />
・9,581,250 ÷ 1,000 = 9,581ℓ!!!!!!!! <br />
<br />
Calculating the weight...... <span style="color: #cc0000;">it's about......... 9.5t !!!!!!!!!!!!</span> (OMG!!!) <br />
<br />
A...Am I the only one who heard a scream just now?<br />
<br />

When in Yokohama : Yamate, Kirin Beer is a must.<br />
Because Yokohama Yamate is the birthplace of Kirin Beer.<br />

The taste of Kirin Beer when partaken in its hometown… is so exceptional.<br />

And then I received the menu…<br />
ROCHE's very famous hamburg steak, is quite honestly delicious!!<br />
A firm, consistent patty, <br />
topped with a smooth, yet rich demiglace sauce which flows throughout the palate.<br />
One taste is all it takes to understand how much time and effort went into creating this sauce.<br />
<br />

<br />
And then… here is the "very definition of omelet rice!!"<br />
This dish is certainly the standard of omelet rice.<br />
Especially for those born in the 1960s, this flavor will really seep into your soul...<br />

<br />
This area is dotted with several famous Western-style buildings, beginning with <br />
The Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery, located in front of ROCHE.<br />
If you walk a bit towards the port, there you'll find the famous Yokohama tourist spot, <br />
Bay View Park : "Minato No Mieru Oka Kouen".<br />
I believe you'll be able to fully enjoy the image of a post-Meiji era Yokohama, adorned in Western culture.<br />
* The photograph was taken at the beautiful spanish style building, "Berrick hall".<br />
By all means, please come and visit Yokohama!<br />

She is the daughter of my wife's younger sister. This year she just turned 20 years old.<br />
Currently, she is studying at nursing school. <br />
I certainly hope she can become a successful nurse in the future.<br />
<br />
She has, ever since she was young, been very close to me. <br />
I also enjoy her company very much.<br />
Throughout the year, we don't meet very often, <br />
so when we do, I often end up spending too much. <br />
<br />
Tonight we, as per her request, ate yakiniku.<br />
Yokohama : Basyamichi's 『<a href="http://www.yakinikuotaki.com/" target="_blank">Yakiniku : Ootaki</a>』is a store that I frequent often.<br />
It is by far the best yakiniku restaurant that I have ever been to in my life!<br />
It stands high above any other yakiniku restaurant!!!<br />
<br />
When I was in my forties, I didn't eat meat very much. <br />
However, once I started to go to this restaurant, my preferences became the exact opposite. <br />
I wonder if I'm not eating more meat than I used to when I was a young man...<br />
I believe this is actually an important step in order to lead an energetic lifestyle in my later years as well.<br />
As you would think, oily meat is NG, but I can eat all the lean meat with ponzu as I like.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhsr2K126of8KomiNKo_0JQDmnWfxRy_M7lyGCJKumocQt2ObYMNeWgJ2804mbhMRCqItJm_9LcRVLlFMX5xtuJbGaeyXAI8wtCI61LPUMEM0JuI-ctPTvihXLrYPr_qt6hyphenhyphenBWNYK97VM/s1600/agg+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhsr2K126of8KomiNKo_0JQDmnWfxRy_M7lyGCJKumocQt2ObYMNeWgJ2804mbhMRCqItJm_9LcRVLlFMX5xtuJbGaeyXAI8wtCI61LPUMEM0JuI-ctPTvihXLrYPr_qt6hyphenhyphenBWNYK97VM/s640/agg+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
『Yakiniku : Ootaki』 also offers the fragrant beer : Premium malts created by Suntory. <br />
Drinking premium malts beer from the can is delicious, <br />
but I really love drinking draft premium malts beer at the restaurant.<br />
I was with my niece that day, so I could not let myself drink at my typical pace. <br />
I stopped drinking after 3 glasses.<br />
Still, I got to meet with her and we enjoyed our night together.<br />
<br />

I wonder how many years it’s actually been since I was last here? <br />
I sometimes have business in neighboring Kamakura,<br />
but I have not traveled as far as Hayamamachi at all recently.<br />
<br />
Yesterday, at the invitation of my client, Mr. M., <br />
I spent my day off in his second house in Hayamamachi. <br />
The ocean stretched out before our eyes, and right there behind us were the mountains. <br />
I could quickly see why so many successful people choose to live in magnificent residences in this scenic spot, <br />
where time passes so peacefully.<br />
<br />

Lunch yesterday was at <a href="http://tabelog.com/kanagawa/A1406/A140602/14012386/" target="_blank">Yoshino, a sushi restaurant</a> in Hayamamachi which Mr. M. frequents. <br />
While watching the terribly suave owner’s handling of the knife, <br />
we enjoyed a diverse selection of well-made sushi...<br />
And I too ended up a committed fan of Yoshino...<br />

I am a lover of photography, and after lunch, <br />
Mr. M. was so thoughtful as to take me on a drive to the Akiya coast, a superb scenic spot in Kanagawa. <br />
The first southerlies of spring were blowing in the Kanto area yesterday, <br />
and the water here looked truly rough, even though it is usually calm. <br />

W...wait, <br/>
d...did you say something??<br/>
It's fine, isn't it???<br/>
<br/>
My goal at the moment is to make this restaurant a Mecca for Harley Bikers.....<br/>
Long haired and bearded men in jeans stained with oil and leather vests taking<br/>
a bite on the tasty pancake with a smile......<br/>
I want to see a heartwarming scene like this, even just once!!!<br/>
<br/>
Does that count as business obstruction?<br/>
<br/>
Oh... At any rate, the blood orange pancake was so tasty.<br/>
Added onto the fresh cream was orange-based cream, <br/>
and the marmalade jam on the two sides also made the greatest harmony......<br/>
<br/>

We do not have kids. Instead, we have two cats. When we were looking for a place to live, <br/>
one of our requirements was that it had to have a lot of sunlight for them, <br/>
and before we even realized so, we had found a place and were living here.<br/>

Downstairs, the largest china town of Japan spreads out.....<br/>

Sometimes, this area becomes somewhat of a lawless district, <br/>
but it seems to be comfortable for our cats, <br/>
and as a proof their fur has become much richer than it was before. <br/>
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzh0T6RAVrNNIILnoHQZYQ1OFtAX7-oPayQrTbRumOR4xEj8-3tYU3MrQ-T1F2vEAbx9Bf5xQLV3OCnoDzmCEyHmVaAJKT61yWbWZ8CLp-F8fRoh4t4tteEgXkSxKVs1p_Ac3GeevH2Gw/s1600/ccp2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzh0T6RAVrNNIILnoHQZYQ1OFtAX7-oPayQrTbRumOR4xEj8-3tYU3MrQ-T1F2vEAbx9Bf5xQLV3OCnoDzmCEyHmVaAJKT61yWbWZ8CLp-F8fRoh4t4tteEgXkSxKVs1p_Ac3GeevH2Gw/s640/ccp2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
This area is also a historically important place in the Japanese modernization, <br/>
and it is marked with traces of history here and there around the town.<br/>
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiupZK93nuqxIfhx67GgHPCla9nGs6KPN9AC2sBnYg8rqnaVCIpiZka9KWGVMcTSp2BD-QBaqUhaR89GyQIW1uxzgeN21BDepqwmCS-TBqMzCEUXiChS6lQnqMJSgT-4S-0UwBaZFlfavg/s1600/ccp3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiupZK93nuqxIfhx67GgHPCla9nGs6KPN9AC2sBnYg8rqnaVCIpiZka9KWGVMcTSp2BD-QBaqUhaR89GyQIW1uxzgeN21BDepqwmCS-TBqMzCEUXiChS6lQnqMJSgT-4S-0UwBaZFlfavg/s640/ccp3.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
Also, there are many long-established Wester-style diners, <br/>
so we often come across the kind of Western-style menu that our generation used to idealize as kids.<br/>
Those meals really match beer, which means that the amount of beer that<br/>
I drink has definitely increased since we live here.<br/>
The meals I request my wife to make at home also lean towards a <br/>
Western-style menu since we started living in Yokohama, <br/>
such as pasta with Neapolitan sauce, Omuraisu (an omelette filled with fried chicken rice) or Gratins, <br/>
so the number of beer cans we open at our place is continuously growing. <br/>
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8cyFeNSMc8XhrCObrERFWxsL1IlvVSwbUGBBWteRyNQ0l41UiA7dzjQJAt5pb1UqDXzlMBS8sxuYxKgWmhgMARynhnhUl8LdAYF_n36kKQ6JyhPV_K2lXfbIEslni-l_av188hLrTlVo/s1600/ccp4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8cyFeNSMc8XhrCObrERFWxsL1IlvVSwbUGBBWteRyNQ0l41UiA7dzjQJAt5pb1UqDXzlMBS8sxuYxKgWmhgMARynhnhUl8LdAYF_n36kKQ6JyhPV_K2lXfbIEslni-l_av188hLrTlVo/s640/ccp4.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
This last year I have become completely addicted to my wife's special Neapolitan. <br/>
She always uses linguine for the noodles in this dish.<br/>
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOeg7QlHtoFfkSOZNeTWi2yJhqywry6mFbpMAjqSYhY0uT5Kr4bQrVoyPHvRiPfBoYRdHoPnrfazICWPCSiAw-wivMCqhIAbF1qfbMycJxBSRvHeuYGy0EQerHDeqxcziUxcY3-KWeSWc/s1600/ccp5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOeg7QlHtoFfkSOZNeTWi2yJhqywry6mFbpMAjqSYhY0uT5Kr4bQrVoyPHvRiPfBoYRdHoPnrfazICWPCSiAw-wivMCqhIAbF1qfbMycJxBSRvHeuYGy0EQerHDeqxcziUxcY3-KWeSWc/s640/ccp5.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
Cobb Salad is another dish that she makes often these days.<br/>
This is a Mexican Salad. It is especially tasty if you have it with a little tabasco sprinkled on top!<br/>
<br/>

you'll instantly get questions like :<br />
"You know a lot about beer don't you?" <br />
Which is troublesome if you don't know too much. <br />
<br />
By the way, my motto is, "I don't talk about beer, I drink it"!!!<br />
<br />
However, I have done a bit of research on beer.<br />
I started a week before I started this blog, <br />
since then, I've spent all my time surfing and reading beer sites!!<br />
<br />
As a result the difference between my knowledge of beer <br />
compared with one week ago is night and day. <br />
On the other hand, I don't have the slightest intention of<br />
writing things I don't know about beer.<br />
*When expert articles are needed, they will be linked. <br />
<br />
As for Today's beer : <br />
STELLA ARTOIS... You're Belgium's fairy.....<br />
The Pilsner Beer from Belgium to the world!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlHA33KUoxvn6PGPdwYBDt2sk-n7x7DNKjOALxtwMj94DsRLxsMkJNlyMnQgTHCyfZAoCEl2LZv7UM-5VQJ7jdLWo5u-LpR34oAMMlCBFtaM50A_O8LqNUFpjJOnqYLNCs5yy30huZ1BQ/s1600/acv+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlHA33KUoxvn6PGPdwYBDt2sk-n7x7DNKjOALxtwMj94DsRLxsMkJNlyMnQgTHCyfZAoCEl2LZv7UM-5VQJ7jdLWo5u-LpR34oAMMlCBFtaM50A_O8LqNUFpjJOnqYLNCs5yy30huZ1BQ/s640/acv+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The taste is absolutely refreshing.<br />
It also has an exceptionally fine grained foam. <br />
The texture of the foam forces me, almost against my will, <br />
to use an adjective like "fairy" to describe it. <br />
Even though it was my first time drinking this beer, <br />
it was truly delicious!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7KYcqIG5E4yBWPpMXBOtGo6qNY82-wFaw3buael4bvojA914H4faSfUqmb7OYY8HPSCB6WEg5FTjfNbBvzB8RlK4tJGm_JQz7pQPSTX_T9qEEgv1Ye2SbTWpBH6rZDeR2-xPvmalSgYU/s1600/acv+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7KYcqIG5E4yBWPpMXBOtGo6qNY82-wFaw3buael4bvojA914H4faSfUqmb7OYY8HPSCB6WEg5FTjfNbBvzB8RlK4tJGm_JQz7pQPSTX_T9qEEgv1Ye2SbTWpBH6rZDeR2-xPvmalSgYU/s640/acv+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
For some reason, Belgium seems to be the world's treasury of beer, <br />
so much so that it can compete with neighboring Germany, the home of beer. <br />
Why are there are so many kinds of beers in Belgium?<br />
I will ponder this question as I go on a journey to discover beer .<br />
<br />
■ Yokohama Landmark Tower<br />
The World Beer Museum which I always go to is on B2F of Yokohama Landmark Tower <br />
inside the Dockyard Garden (Meiji dockyard remnants).<br />
On my day off every Wednesday, at about 1:00pm, <br />
I'll be doing my best not to get too drunk while enjoying the scenery!!!<br />
<br />

The day before the temperature had dropped in Yokohama, <br />
so this must definitely be proof of the good deeds I perform every day..... <br />
As a reward, God made my day off a very spring-like one.<br />
<br />
So I took advantage of the good weather <br />
and I went to the Dockyard Garden in Yokohama Landmark Tower : B2F again yesterday.<br />
<br />
I had lunch at <a href="http://r.gnavi.co.jp/g221890/" target="_blank">BARBARA market place 221</a>!!<br />

<br />
The interior decoration makes you feel as if you are really in Spain!!<br />
Isn't this open display of the atmosphere of Andalucía lovely?<br />
<br />
You can almost see the boss of some Mafia sitting at the box seats behind,<br />
holding a cigar in his mouth and stroking the head of a shaggy cat.....<br />
<br />
Alright, that had nothing to do with this article in the first place.....<br />

<br />
I accompanied today's lunch with an Yebisu draft beer!!<br />
I feel like these days a lot of restaurants have Yebisu draft beer available...<br />
And I am wonder if this is all thanks to the activities of the Yebisu Beer sales team.<br />
<br />
Of course, I had another round!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This dish is a pork saute seasoned in a Japanese style.<br />
Garlic slices and shredded cabbage...<br />
Its taste reminded me with nostalgia of the meals of my childhood, back in the late 1970's.....<br />
<br />
This is so like Yokohama. Western-style dishes like this one match the place so well.<br />

I originally thought that something like 'World Wide Beer Fantasia' would be the best for the title of this blog. <br />
However, as that would be too over the top, I thought about settling for 'Japan Beer Fantasia.' <br />
Yet, for my current job, it's not easy to leave Yokohama~Kawasaki, where my office and house are, <br />
so I thought it would be more relaxing for me to view the circumstances in a positive way, <br />
and make it a locally-based blog. As a result, In any case, I decided on the title of 'Hi Water.'<br />
<br />
<br />
'Yokohama Motomachi'<br />
Though there are a lot of fashionable cafes, <br />
there aren't a lot of places where one can relaxedly drink beer during the day.<br />
<br />
Among these places, turning in the direction of the Foreign Cemetery from Motomachi Plaza <br />
and going slightly further from the famous Uchiki-Bakery is <a href="http://tabelog.com/kanagawa/A1401/A140105/14006904/" target="_blank">SLOW CAFE</a>, a place which I really appreciate.<br />
<br />
With a open deck opening out at the front, <br />
in this cafe in which even a dog is allowed to have a seat, <br />
just like the name, time indeed passes at a slow pace.<br />
<br />

<br />
Also the Heineken here......<br />
<br />
Whenever you come here, it tastes so nice that you ask, "Was Heineken always this tasty?"<br />
<br />
Just to check, I came here again today, and just as I thought, it was really tasty.<br />

This place is really close to the sea of Yokohama, so its fragrance wafts here from time to time.<br />
The feeling of relaxing with Heineken on the open deck whilst being surrounded <br />
by the cry of cicadas from the Foreign Cemetery in the afternoon is what I love the most.<br />

That's a devil's beer.Last night at home I drank this devil beer.<br/>
Made in Belgian: Duvel...<br/>
8.5% Alcohol!!<br/>
<br/>
Because I started drinking from late at night, 0:30,<br/>
I will probably welcome the morning with a great hang over.<br/>
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFe3gZT44ae-tgizu6-oNxNIfhsTMjVJ8BkprfB64n9_He_Ur5iY2Cqc3iJ_4cSUnvfmLG8koTbcmcH3Ijgb8OqlGCchwpET9JGuTltMFDTgsTCVWWpZ8RDOMN3y9jejPZtYznQAmY6fk/s1600/ppp+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFe3gZT44ae-tgizu6-oNxNIfhsTMjVJ8BkprfB64n9_He_Ur5iY2Cqc3iJ_4cSUnvfmLG8koTbcmcH3Ijgb8OqlGCchwpET9JGuTltMFDTgsTCVWWpZ8RDOMN3y9jejPZtYznQAmY6fk/s640/ppp+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
Have any of you tried this beer?<br/>
<br/>
It is indeed a very tasty beer.<br/>
The foam is ridiculously creamy and extremely delicious.<br/>
In addition to this, there is a special sweetness that invites you to down glass after glass.<br/>
<br/>
I am certain that I downed 4-5 of these Duvel during summer last year.<br/>
while having lunch with a friend at an intimate Italian Restaurant.<br/>
As I was nearly unable to walk back home that day under burning sun,<br/>
since then I only drink Duvel at home.<br/>
<br/>
As I am pretty tiered today, I will have about 3 drinks then hit the sack.<br/>
<br/>
Because dinner will be late tonight, the menu is rather light...<br/>
I guess when you're this old you can't really eat all that much anyway. <br/>
This should be just enough for me...<br/>
<br/>

that my grandmother introduced me to and became a big fan of Clint Eastwood.<br />
Dirty Harry is especially cool.<br />
I idolized Harry aiming his Magnum 44 at the villain getting away in the car, <br />
while chewing on his hot dog, at the beginning of the movie.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnemH5uOXHH6vZP1XFrlAzpiTvmhgDANa4I99cRUsLgIKpVGI3xlgTRT4ywC9TCMp9rT8q1bN9qwDeQPLexzki26s853nRdxjyQxCHaG42hS3WUUD7lS8fJWjoMOtR6Qev1xZw0O6NxMM/s1600/aar1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnemH5uOXHH6vZP1XFrlAzpiTvmhgDANa4I99cRUsLgIKpVGI3xlgTRT4ywC9TCMp9rT8q1bN9qwDeQPLexzki26s853nRdxjyQxCHaG42hS3WUUD7lS8fJWjoMOtR6Qev1xZw0O6NxMM/s640/aar1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I think it was in an Interview for a movie magazine, where I read that Clint Eastwood loved beer. <br />
There was a photo of him with a glass of beer wearing a T-shirt with the Budweiser logo mark printed on it.<br />
For some reason I still remember that photo very clearly and<br />
I think that it was somehow closely linked to me becoming a beer aficionado. <br />
<br />
Budweiser is the beer that comes from the USA...<br />
That's about the extent of my knowledge on beer, <br />
so I was surprised when I drank these two beers from the UAS the other day. <br />
It might be pretty rude to say to people from the USA, <br />
but I never know there was beer this good in the UAS!!<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #cc0000;">■ HIGH WATER HOP RIOT IPA</span><br />
It is full bodied and has a bite!!<br />
It's bitter, astringent and very aggressive.<br />
This beer gives off a very youthful impression.<br />
Also, the special glass with the wide rims is probably a must-have item to fully appreciate this beer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKchBScKmmqZt1EDblcvIjAlhEFBzLk9uJVg3hRcCb0GB0Irp-GKDOqKIXzRc-eLK8XsefmxHbFdF2u6d7nlRR4ZA3TJw3WHUi-koiJsaIZy0wYqROtn1dlSblZVY7HeB23dq5kHbvC2E/s1600/aar2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKchBScKmmqZt1EDblcvIjAlhEFBzLk9uJVg3hRcCb0GB0Irp-GKDOqKIXzRc-eLK8XsefmxHbFdF2u6d7nlRR4ZA3TJw3WHUi-koiJsaIZy0wYqROtn1dlSblZVY7HeB23dq5kHbvC2E/s640/aar2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #cc0000;">■ PIKE IPA</span><br />
This one has a rounder taste and is less bitter...<br />
I think it's above all, a beer that has a great overall balance.<br />
Of course, this was also a very tasty beer!!<br />
To be honest, on this day, the above mentioned HIGH WATER IPA left such a strong impression on me, <br />
that it almost wiped out the taste of the PIKE IPA.<br />
<br />

Pancakes and I.......<br />
<br />
We don’t suit each other. We really don’t suit each other!<br />
<br />
Well, if I could only get the message across to the person I want to…<br />
<br />
But....<br />
“Pancakes." What on earth are these things?<br />
For sure, this was a question that was on my mind non-stop for a few years.<br />
<br />
How are they different, what's the difference, between them and hotcakes?<br />
And to make it even more complicated, <br />
what about when they’re loaded up with omelets, sausages, bacon, salad and stuff...<br />
<br />
I guess that hot cakes and bacon just wouldn’t go well together...<br />
<br />
Then, about a month ago, as I happened to be passing by that shop, <br />
just kind of 80% on impulse, I decided to go in.<br />
※Of course, I was with my wife...<br />
<br />
And then..........<br />
I was, totally, done over.............<br />
Fluffy and chewy...<br />
You―so lovely, so round―you turned out to be salty!!!<br />
<br />
You are just too delicious! You pancake you!!!<br />
<br />
I get it now why so many women want to eat you, even if they have to line up in a queue and wait for you. <br />
Ever since then, I’ve turned into a guy who wants to asexually devour pancakes every three days...<br />
<br />
All you guys out there, I’ll be you haven’t had any yet, right?<br />
<br />
Pancakes. To live without having savored this delicious taste is just too much of a waste....<br />
<br />
<br />
■ On this day, I ordered a dessert plate.<br />
That not-too-sweet fresh cream combined with fresh bananas is the ultimate combo!<br />
I'm not the type who eats bananas at all, but yeah, this really does taste great.<br />

The store that I manage, Harley Davidson Custom Shop : BAD LAND, is closed every Wednesday.<br />
Many shop, are closed on Wednesdays in our line of business. <br />
So, the other day, I had lunch at a soba restaurant called <a href="http://www.issaan.co.jp/motomachi/" target="_blank">Issan</a>, in Moto-Machi, Yokomohama.<br />
However, nothing is better than drinking a beer at lunchtime. <br />
For me, I have a beer at lunchtime every Wednesday!<br />
It seems that is what I work for really.<br />
<br />
The other day I had a beer bottle of YEBISU.<br />
Yes yes, apparently on every YEBISU beer label there is a picture of two Pacific sea bream. <br />
Among the fan, this is called "lucky YEBISU]", and it is held in high esteem.<br />
Did you know this?<br />

In Japan, they call yuba lifted from boiling soy milk fresh yuba (or hikiage – lifted - yuba) and, <br />
aside from using it as an ingredient for cooking, eat it as is without cooking, <br />
which is referred to as 'yuba sashimi. <br />

as well as experience the wonders of Beer Fantasia!<br />
In addition to these attractions, there are many foods that pair well with beer.<br />
Be yourself, and enjoy beer to your heart's content!<br />

My favorite drink at the moment...<br />
as everyone knows, is the local lager : Location: München, Germany, SPATEN Münchener Hell!<br />
With a light taste, it is a beer that, as they say, "goes down smoothly."<br />
Despite that, it's full of flavor!<br />
<br />
While this may sound a little boastful...<br />
I have been dealing with the company in Germany for work, and<br />
I have drank this beer in München, where it is made!!!<br />
With a sausage and pretzel, both specialties of the München region, in one hand,<br />
I was drinking this fine beer with the locals like it was water!<br />

At the <a href="http://www.world-liquor-importers.co.jp/yokohama/" target="_blank">The World Beer Museum</a> inside Dockyard Garden B2F of Landmark Tower... <br />
This photograph is of my favorite. <br />
A product of High Water Brewing from the San Francisco area in the US, its name is Hop Riot IPA!!<br />
I thoroughly recommend trying this “Riot” of a beer. <br />
Full of vibrancy, it’s a truly youthful beer!<br />
At 7.3% alcohol by volume, it’s a little on the strong side....<br />
Take care when having a few!<br />
